BESPOKE, UNIQUE & ONE-OFF COMMISSIONS

I do mainly get asked to make bespoke rings, however my customers all come to me with different reasons for wanting a unique, bespoke, handmade piece of jewellery and it doesn’t have to be a ring! Sometimes it's to commemorate an event, celebrate an occasion, cherish a memory or simply just as a treat. With these specials times in mind, I always try to build that emotion, story and sentiment in to the final piece, perfectly unique to that person or time.

Each commission is different and I always try to work to the budget, brief and constraints each of my clients gives me so that they may have, to give each client that special one off piece of jewellery, I hoped they'd always wished for!

Without having started the design process, I am often asked for an idea of how much it may cost to have a bespoke piece of jewellery made. However, as there are so many variables to each commission, (whether it be using new materials or the customers own etc), it’s very difficult to give a one size fits all price list.

Commemorative pet jewellery

I get asked quote often to make ashes jewellery which is something I am very comfortable in doing. These pieces were to commemorate a beloved family pet...actually framing the dog hair in a hand made settings. A memory of a loved one, always to be remembered.

A seriously mammoth re-string!

This lovely customer has a bag off loose beads which I painstakingly re-strung to make this stunning rope of Lapis Lazuli. I was so happy with the results and so was the client!

Bespoke silver gemstone bangle

I was tasked with making this bangle to a stockists' design. Each stone is one of her childrens birthstones, and she has since been back to add another!

Bespoke Commission - Opal and gold pendant

Opals can be very very tricky to work with but when my client brought it to me, I was more than up for the challenge! They have a high water content and have a mind of their own making them very hard to set, but this pendant worked out beautifully.

Tormalines are great stones to work with, they can be found in an orray of colours, are fairly hard and cut well are really vibrant.

I do love a setting with a bit of detail on the side...these are perfect for pulling light in to the back of the stones, letting it shine more.

Bespoke make - Onyx pendant/brooch

These were designed by a stockist and handed to me to make. There were so many individual pieces I lost count of how many solder joints there were in the end, but they looked just like the design proposal so I am happy. Cleverly designed as each can be worn as a brooch or a pendant.

A very special bespoke silver bangle

I think I ended up making 4 pieces with this Double R design for this family. It became an emblem of strength and remembrance. This became a striking every day silver bangle for them!

This commission took a fair while to make and a bit of breath holding with the various joints but worked but perfectly and the client wears it every day!

Truly bespoke necklace

I sat with this customer and went though the fine details of this stone set necklace. She chose the exact stone configuration chain type and clasp and had a say in every stage of the design. It makes it really easy for me to know the customer is getting what they really want.

Bespoke Sapphire and Silver cufflinks

With 17 different solder joints this cuff makes a breath holding commission to make. I am really happy with it however and it looked lovely on the customer, the dot in the J being a lovely bright blue sapphire.

Unique bespoke, gold skull pendant

I just heard the customer loved his skull pendant that we cast using his heavy gold ring. This just shows that we love to do a whole spectrum of designing and making!
